Straight Line Exteriors Inc. has several different roofing materials that we use to cater to the varying tastes of our customers including asphalt/fiberglas shingles, cedar shakes & shingles, steel roofing, and rubber roofing.
Asphalt/Fiberglas/Laminate
Fiberglas asphalt shingles (also called Laminate or Architectural) would be a more economical choice. Ranging from 15 year (3 tab) to 30 year-Lifetime (Laminate), which are the most popular choice. Made to imitate the look of a cedar shake roof Laminate shingles have curb appeal and are much more durable than a standard 3 tab shingle.
Cedar
For an unmatched look and a longer lasting roof Cedar shakes or shingles would be an excellent choice. Cedar shingles are sawn on both faces and are thinner; shakes are split rather than sawn and are much thicker with a rough look. Steeper roofs would be the best candidate for Cedar because they shed water more quickly reducing absorption. I would not recommend Cedar for roof pitches 4/12 and under.
Metal/Steel
Metal roofing essentially consists of sheeting using galvanized steel. Steel roofing is another great choice for a longer lasting durable roof. When installed properly steel will last significantly longer than Asphalt shingles. Steel would also be the environmental choice because it is a 100% recyclable.
Roof Repairs
On average, a home's roof must be replaced, or at least repaired, every decade. Straight Line Exteriors, Inc. guarantees much longer lasting roofing material but we felt it was pertinent to give you the average life span of a roof.
Straight Line Exteriors, Inc. provides roofing repair services if you simply want to repair your damaged roof instead of replacing it altogether. We believe there are several reasons why roofs eventually need to be repaired, but there are certain environmental factors in particular that can accelerate the erosion process. For instance, we believe that the number one cause of roofing damage is lack of maintenance. An initial kink or problem that is ignored can rapidly spread across the roof. Moreover, Straight Line Exteriors, Inc. is well aware of the damage that Mother Nature can inflict on a roof. Continuous weathering via rain, hail, ice and wind will have an eventual toll on even the sturdiest of roofs. However, improper assembly and poor roofing design choices can also exacerbate roofing problems exponentially. For instance, improper or incompatible use of roofing materials can cause significant problems.
Maple Grove Residential Gutters
Rain gutters are essential to protect your homes foundation from leaking. They divert the rain water out and away from the base of your home by channeling it through the gutter to the downspouts. Gutters are available in a variety of material such as steel, copper, aluminum, or PVC and other plastics. Straight Line Exteriors, Inc. will work with you to find the best products for your taste and needs.
Gutter Guards
Clogged gutters can cause water back-ups and may leak into the foundation of your home. It can also lead to stagnant water build up which allows mosquitoes to breed. A clogged gutter can overflow and cause damage to the roof edge and in cold weather it can also lead to ice dams. Straight Line Exteriors, Inc. offers a wide range of gutter guards that keep debris out and allows water to flow through smoothly.
